Denise Parr-Reedy

Denise René Parr-Reedy unfortunately lost her battle with cancer on May 27th, 2024, on Memorial Day at her home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 6 p.m., with a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. before the service at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, IL.

Another Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 1 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., at Friend Circle Club, Moline, IL.

Denise was born November 29th, 1960, at Moline Public Hospital to her parents, Elaine Qualls and Robert Adamson. She has two sisters, Kathy Remick (Kevin) and Kelli Prunty, as well as three brothers, Jamie and Dino, and her late brother, Robert Adamson.

In 1985, Denise met the love of her life, Thomas Reedy. They later married and spent 39 years together. The two had a very special, loving bond. Thomas became Denise's caregiver when she became ill. The love they shared was truly one of a kind.

Denise had many hobbies, including—but not limited to—cooking, baking, doing crossword puzzles and scratch-offs, writing poetry, and spending as much time as possible with her grandkids. She was known by all and a bonus mother to most. She was a very kind lady, a perfect role model, and a beautiful ray of sunshine.

Denise was passionate about working with children; she was a lunch lady and a hall monitor and ran as a PTA president for many years. Denise had a huge fan base and was loved by all! Denise eventually retired and became a full-time caretaker for her mother, Elaine, and was also able to spend more quality time with her grandchildren. Denise was a social butterfly; she loved socializing with her friends and family daily, hanging out on Facebook, and sharing posts and pictures of her family.

Denise is survived by her husband; her four children, Jennifer (Justin), Chad, Jon ( Addie), and Thomas, as well as many bonus children. She has eight grandchildren: Madison (Brody), Chad (Sam), Carlin, Kaylee, Ethan, Rainah, Harper, and Nash.

Denise was thrilled to spend time with her first-born great-grandson, Finnian. Even though her time was cut short, she loved and enjoyed every minute!

Denise is now in peace. She will be deeply missed by many and never forgotten by all. May her soul rest in paradise.

Denise was preceded in death by her father, Robert Adamson, brother Robert Adamson Jr., Grandmother Rose Qualls, Grandfather John Qualls, and Uncle Joseph Qualls.
