David John Klinge

David John Klinge, 71, of Moline, went home to Heaven on Thursday, December 15, 2011. Per David's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services and visitation will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. A Masonic service conducted by Masonic Trio Lodge #57 of Milan, and the visitation, will begin at 5:00 p.m., with the Memorial Service beginning at 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family to honor David's grandchildren. David was born June 6, 1940, in Moline, son of Ernest John Klinge and Grace Clara Herman Klinge. He married Dorothy Jean Blaylock on July 14, 1961, in Moline. He retired from Case International Harvester in 1990 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Trio Lodge #57 in Milan. He enjoyed photography, traveling to Germany, gardening, antiques and collecting unique items. Those left to honor and cherish David's memory are his daughter Deborah "Debbie" (Mark) Johnson of Moline, daughter Patricia "Patty" "Pat" Klinge of Moline and son Brian (Nichole) Klinge of East Moline; eight grandchildren: Amy (Mike) VanSeveran, Kelly (Shawn) Durham, Dylan Johnson, Kaylyn Keegan, Jesse Mickelson, Alyssa Klinge, Samantha Klinge, and Emily Klinge; six great-grandchildren: Dalton Durham, Taylor Streitmatter, Autumn Streitmatter, Isabella VanSeveran, Emma VanSeveran, and Dylan VanSeveran; brother: Michael (Adel) Klinge of Parkesburg, PA; nephews: John and James Klinge of Parkesburg, PA; and special best friend and companion, his Chihuahua, "Randy". David was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Anthony, and his best friend "Kiley", his Rottweiler.
