David Lloyd Garmon, 75, of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday, January 28, 2008, at Forest Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center in East Moline. Burial and graveside service will take place at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, in Rock Island, IL, on Thursday, January 31st, at 11:30 a.m. Military rites will be accorded by Moline American Legion Post #246. All interested in attending the services are invited to meet at Wendt Funeral Home, 1811-15th Street Place, Moline, at 11:15 a.m., and we will follow in a procession to the cemetery. David was born May 25, 1932, in Beaumont, KY, the son of Porter and Beire (Merideth) Garmon. David proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was married to Barbara Gessel from 1952 to 1957. He was later married to Janice Feely from 1957 to 1969, and then to Darlene Luckenbihl from 1970 to 1982. David enjoyed fishing, gardening, and sharing pizza with friends. Survivors include one son: Rick Garmon of Davenport, IA; four daughters: Kathy Bovard of Oklahoma City, OK, Vicky Binger of Moline, Rita Rogers of Davenport, IA, and Tammy Wells of Sacramento, CA; eight grandsons; five great-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Barbara Ann; his wife, Darlene Luckenbihl; four sisters: Nina Carter, Velma Grodge, Christine Doyle, and Margaret "Bernice" Jessee; and five brothers: Ruben, Gillus, Clifton ("Curley"), ("Dee"), Selvie, and Charlie.
