David Ellis

David Ellis, 75, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, May 7, 2015, at UnityPoint-Trinity West in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 12th, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 13th, at 10:00 am, with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Moline Public Library. David was born in Moline on December 1, 1939, to Beulah and Howard Ellis. In June of 1964, in Rock Island, he married Ann Ellis, who survives. He graduated from Washington Junior High School and Rock Island High School, and attended Iowa State College in Ames, IA. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was employed by Williams White & Company in Moline, beginning in January 1961, and retired as Vice President of Engineering in June of 2010. He was a member of the former Central Presbyterian Church in Rock Island. He enjoyed being an engineer and machine designer, and loved fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Ann, with whom he shared 51 years of happy marriage. Other survivors include a sister-in-law Alice, and a sister Sandra. He was preceded in death by his parents.
