Darreld G. Andresen, 90, of Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.  A private graveside service will be held at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Darreld was born October 21, 1928, in Calamus, IA, son of George L. and Enda (Schwartz) Andresen.  On May 11, 1973, in DeWitt, IA, he married Maylou Catherine Jones, who passed away June 28, 2011. Survivors include his stepdaughter, Linda (Wayne) Chapman of West Des Moines, IA; his stepson, Richard (Cheri) Burgston of Spring Hill, FL; grandchildren, Brad (Kris) Chapman of Eau Claire, WI, Amy (Reggie) Stalzer of West Des Moines, IA, and Lisa (Jeff) Nyberg of St. Charles, MO; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marylou.
