Danny J. Jamieson

July 21, 1950 — January 14, 2024

Danny J. Jamieson, known affectionately as Dan to his family and friends, passed away on January 14, 2024, in Silvis, Illinois. Born on July 21, 1950, in Moline, Illinois, he was a beloved son, brother, and friend who brought laughter and warmth into the lives of those around him.


He was the son of the late Rodney Jamieson and Dorothea (Daniels) Jamieson. Along with his mother, he is survived by his sisters Joann Ackley, Susan Jamieson, and Jennifer Jamieson as well as his nephews, Nicholas Ackley and Michael Ackley and their families.


An alumnus of Moline High School, Dan graduated with the class of 1968. He furthered his education at Northern Illinois University, where he completed a bachelor's degree.


He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Viet Nam war as a radio operator.


Dan's professional life was dedicated to Deere & Co, where he retired after many years of committed service.


Dan liked to spend time painting, also enjoyed horticulture and finding new places to explore and experience locally.


Those who knew Dan would describe him as generous, kind, and funny. His generosity was not limited to material things but extended to his time, advice, and support. He will be greatly missed.


A celebration of life will be held at Wendt Funeral home, Moline on Wednesday January 31st between 4-6PM. The memory of Danny J. Jamieson will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved him.
