Clyde W. Kent

Clyde Kent, 87, of East Moline, IL, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center - Illini Campus in Silvis, IL. Per his wishes, the body will be cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Clyde W. Kent was born in Vincennes, IN, on March 7, 1924, to Homer and Ethel (Perkins) Kent. In 1954, in Des Moines, IA, he married Helen Phipps, who survives. He was employed by Deere & Company for 25 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and woodworking. In addition to his wife, Helyn, he is survived by a daughter, Valerie Jean Henderson of Aledo, IL; a step-son David Beaderstadt of Blue Grass, IA; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Dennis.
