Clemmie Black, 97, of Milan, IL, died Monday, April 23, 2012, at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline, IL. Services will be Friday, April 27th, at 11:00 a.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL, with a 1-hour visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund to be established later. Clemmie M. Williams was born in Guin, AL, on March 5, 1915, to John and Alice (Pate) Williams. On October 21, 1934, in Guin, she married James B. Black, who preceded her in death on December 19, 1992. She was a member of the Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Milan. Clemmie was a home maker, and enjoyed going to church, sewing, reading, walking with friends, and expecially loved being with her family. Survivors include: daughters: Jewel Engstrom of Moline, and Betty Griffin of Greensville, KY; brothers: Felix Williams of Ohio, and James Williams of Guin; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Hornback, and a sister, Ann Black.
