Clara Thornbloom

Clara Thornbloom, 93, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 12, 2021, at her home in Davenport, IA.

Mass will be Friday, July 16, 2021, at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in East Moline, IL.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline.

Clara Laethem was born in Moline on October 25, 1927, to Camiel and Alice (Bylo) Laethem. On July 23, 1949, in Moline, she married Gerald Thornbloom, who preceded her in death July 4, 1972.

Clara graduated from United Township High School. During her employment years, she worked for Star Form, Inc. and Bonnter Communication Paper, Inc. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline, and served in the Altar Society. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, and quilting.

Survivors include her daughter: Rochelle (Tim) Conroy of Des Moines, IA; her son: Dan (Linda) Thornbloom of Bettendorf, IA; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Dawn Thornbloom, and three brothers, Frank, Albert and Joe Laethem.
