Christine L Sharfe

Christine L. Sharfe, 90, of Moline, IL, left this earth peacefully, in her sleep, Saturday morning, June 15, 2019 at 5:20 a.m.  For the past seven years she had resided at Hope Creek Alzheimers Unit in East Moline, IL. Christine grew up on a farm next to the South Fork Cumberland River, west of Oneida, TN. Born on November 9, 1928, life on a mountain top farm was simple but hard-earned. The tenth child of eleven, of Christopher and Ella Litton, she learned early what hard work and honesty did for a person’s character. Christine’s interests in life were family, God, sewing, singing, and an insatiable love for children! She wore her soul on her sleeve, with her integrity, honesty, and a desire to be the best she could be. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark (1957), daughter Linda (1981), and her husband, Leo (2001).  Christine is survived by her daughter, Mary Savino of Woodstock, IL; son, Larry Sharfe of Moline; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. In her married life, she and husband, Leo, traveled to all fifty states and acquired many great friends along their journey.  She will be deeply missed. As requested by Christine, a small private service will be held to put her with her husband and children at the Dundee Township Cemetery East in Dundee, IL.
