Charles Williams Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023, in Davenport, IA; he was born on September 12, 1949, in Somerville, TN. Known for his handy skills, jovial spirit, and unwavering faith, Charles has left an indelible mark on the lives of all those he encountered.


A funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, IL with a visitation from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.


Charles is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Williams, and his cherished children; Kelley Williams, Terrance Mason, Jennifer Hunter, Natasha Pate, Brittney Williams, and Jamie Youngs. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Lamonte Williams. Charles also leaves behind an array of grandchildren, brothers, and sisters, who will miss him dearly.


Charles was a proud Navy Vietnam Veteran, serving his country with honor and courage. His unwavering commitment to his fellow service members was a testament to his strong character and deep sense of duty.


An avid woodworker, Charles found great joy in creating beautiful pieces of art from simple pieces of wood. His creations often made as gifts for family and friends, are testaments to his skill, patience, and love for his craft. His home was filled with the fruits of his labor, each piece a testament to his talent and creative spirit.


Charles also had a love for playing dominos, a game that brought him much joy and allowed him to connect with others. His competitive spirit was always evident during these games, he had many fun sayings, such as, "15 stitches in a fat girl's britches". Charles was also a long time fan of the WWE, Smack Down, and Monday Night Raw. His love for music and singing was also a significant part of his life, providing a soundtrack to many of the family's most cherished moments.


Charles was a man of deep faith. He believed in the power of prayer, the strength of love, and the promise of eternal life. His faith was a beacon in his life, guiding his actions and providing comfort during challenging times. He was always ready to share words of encouragement and hope, often drawing from his spiritual beliefs to uplift those around him.


Always quick with a joke, Charles was known for his sense of humor. His ability to make others laugh was a gift that he freely shared, bringing joy to all those around him.
