Charles Vance Davenport, 62, of Moline, formerly of Viola, IL, passed away with his children by his side, Sunday, November 12th, after losing his battle with cancer. There will be no services; Cremation rites will be accorded, and burial will be at a later date. A memorial lunch will be held Saturday, November 18th, at 11:00 A.M. at the Viola United Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to United Presbyterian Church of Viola, IL. Chuck was born on September 27, 1944, to Roscoe and Gladys (Brown) Davenport in Monmouth, IL. He was raised in Viola, IL, and graduated from Winola High School in 1962. He retired from Case-I.H. in 1993 after 30 years (Local 1304). Charles married Corliss Miller in 1967. He later married Sheila Tribble in 1988. Chuck was a loving Father and Grandfather, and a good friend to everyone. He will be missed by all who knew him. Chuck will be remembered for his love of old cars, antiques, and the Rock River, where he spent his retirement, fishing with his grandchildren and visiting with neighbors. He is survived by his best friend: Sheila; daughters: Tyrenna Pitman (Jeff Bieri) of Aledo, IL, Amy Davenport (Brian Haynes) of Matherville, IL, Courtny (Tommy) Cameron of Matherville, IL., stepdaughters: Lisa (Eric) Winebrenner of Kansas City, MO, and Christy (Kevin) McCaw of Lees Summit, MO; ten grandchildren: Samantha, Travis, Jacob, Kyle, Shayne, Cain, Kase, Jenna, Caleb, and Kali, and expecting another one; brothers Robert (Jo) Davenport of Andalusia, IL, Dallas (Jeane) Davenport of East Moline, IL; sisters, Dorothy (Daryl) Lemon of the state of Colorado, Mildred (Leroy) Price of Taylor Ridge, IL, and Martha (Bill) Thorp of Viola, IL; brother-in-law Richard Smith of Aledo, IL, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Todd, sister Marilyn, and infant brother Ben.
