Charles “Bud” Kurtz, 89, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Bickford Cottage in Moline. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 6th, at 11:00 a.m., at All Saints Episcopal Church, 2420 – 41st Street, Moline, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Inurnment will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Charles F. Kurtz was born in Moline on March 17, 1928, to Charles and Edna (Stark) Kurtz. He married Meredith A. Eipper in Moline on August 11, 1950. Bud graduated from Rock Island High School and attended Augustana College. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp in Korea and Japan. He was employed in 1948 by Mel Foster Real Estate where he was managing broker. For a short time he was co-owner of Kurtz-Patrick Real Estate. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Moline, and the Illinois Quad City Realty Association where he was president in 1982. He had served as a Senior Warden and a Junior Warden at Christ Episcopal Church in Moline. In addition to his wife, Meredith, survivors include his son, Scott (Dixie) Kurtz of Bettendorf, IA; his daughter, Lisa (Russ) Perry of Moline; and three grandchildren, Elyse and Evan Kurtz and Sarah Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Catherine McEntee. A special thank you is extended to the staff at Bickford Cottage in Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints Episcopal Church in Moline, or to Heartland Hospice in Davenport, IA.
