Charles F. Hoscheid, Jr, 87, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Moline. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at First United Presbyterian Church, 801 – 16th Street, Moline, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1st, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the First United Presbyterian Church. Charles Frank Hoscheid was born in Buffalo, NY, on December 22, 1927, to Charles and Laura (Darmstadter) Hoscheid. On June 20, 1953, in West Alice, WI, he married Marie Louise Ames, who survives. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1946 to 1949, attaining the rank of Corporal. He was employed for a time by Johnson Controls, and later was a Design Engineer for Beling Engineering in Moline, retiring in 1993 after twelve and a half years. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher, and Treasurer. He also held membership in the Moline Noon Day Optimist Club, and the former Quad-City Color Slide Club. He very much enjoyed photography, camping, and backpacking. Survivors include his wife, Marie, and a sister, Ruth (Earl) Noble of Virginia.
