Catherine Anthony, 86, of Moline, IL, died Friday, February 17, 2017, at UnityPoint Trinity West Medical Center in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Saturday, February 25th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., after a rosary at 1:30 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. A Mass will be held on Monday, February 27th, at 9:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1608 – 13th Street, Moline. Cremation rites will be accorded, and inurnment will take place in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Project Now. Catherine Hogue was born in Creston, IA, on December 11, 1930, to Maurice and Genevieve (Considine) Hogue. On November 5, 1955, in Creston, IA, she married James D. Anthony, who preceded her in death on November 3, 1994. She received her nursing degree from Creighton University of Nursing in Omaha, NE. She then graduated from St. Ambrose College in 1983 and received her Master’s Degree from Western Illinois in 1989. After a long career at Franciscan Hospital, Catherine became a Nurse Gerontologist and was Health Coordinator at the Rock Island Senior Center for twenty-five years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a devoted Catholic. She loved animals, especially dogs, and flower gardening, and was an avid “thrifter”. Survivors include three sons: Jeffery (Lisa) Anthony of Bettendorf, IA, Brian Anthony of Atlanta, GA, and David (Genevieve) Anthony of Moline; a daughter-in-law, Terri Anthony of the state of California; a sister, Theresa Owens of Cedar Rapids, IA; and ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one on-the-way. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James II. 0
