Carol J Scherer

Carol J. Scherer, 58, of Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at UnityPoint/Trinity in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, September 15th, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Monday, September 16th, at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Carol J. Eshelman was born in Moline on March 18, 1955, to William R. and Dorothe (Headland) Eshelman. On September 19, 1981, in Rock Island, she married Richard Scherer. She enjoyed quilting, and wrote articles about quilting in Miniature Quilt Magazine. She loved her garden, was an avid reader, was a student of the Bible and an ordained pastor, and she was a collector of Steiff Bears. In addition to her husband, Richard, survivors include: son Christopher A. Rogers of Heber Springs, AR; sister Deanne (Theodore) Pilcher of Rock Island; brother Gary R. Eshelman of Lowden, IA, grandchild: Spencer Rogers; nieces: Lisa Eshelman and LaDora Martin; and nephew Jonathan Pilcher. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Gayle.
