Carl Victor Engh

Carl "Vic" Engh, 89, of Silvis, IL, died Friday, July 12, 2013, at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis. Visitation will be Thursday, July 18th, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, 3303 - 60th Street, Moline, IL. There will be private family services on Friday, with burial at Rose Lawn. Memorials may be made to the church. Carl Victor Engh was born in Moline on October 29, 1923, to Carl and Hazel (Hemborg) Engh. On April 16, 1955, in Moline, he married Virginia L. Bond who preceded him in death in 2000. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, in India and Burma. He was employed over 35 years by Montgomery Elevator Company, first as an assembler, and then as a security guard. Vic was a volunteer for Habit For Humanity, and Meals-on-Wheels, and was a founding member of the Montgomery Elevator Credit Union. Survivors include, son: Martin Engh of Silvis; sister: Rachel Engh Cattrell of Moline; grandchildren: Ryan, Austin, and Ashley Engh, all of Silvis; and niece: Colleen (Bill) Combs of Gentry, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and two brothers, Bob and Art Engh
