Carl Ray Foster

Carl Ray Foster, 83, of East Moline, IL, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus in Silvis, IL. Visitation for family and extended family will be Sunday, March 4th, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services for family and extended family will be Tuesday, March 6th, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL, with Military Honors presented by American Legion Post 246. Memorials may be made to the Veterans Center for Homeless Veterans. Carl was born November 29, 1934 in Iowa City, IA, son of Lloyd H. and Lillie Louise (McIntosh) Foster. He married Lorraine Janssen, who preceded him in death, and then married Jaqueline “Jackie” Waldman. Later, he married Annette “Toni” Rude, who preceded him in death. Carl served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He loved all football from college games to the pros, and was a huge Chicago Bears fan, as well as an avid Cubs fan. In his younger years, he loved playing baseball, where he was the catcher and his identical twin brother was the pitcher. He enjoyed a close life-long relationship with his twin brother. Carl was an artist, loved bowling and singing, and was an excellent ice skater. He was known and loved for his wonderful, if somewhat irreverent, sense of humor and colorful personality. Survivors include his daughters, Lynn (Dave) Welch of Bettendorf, IA, and Michelle (Wayne) Braun of Durant, IA; his son, Chris (Holly Rueda) Foster of Bloomington, IL; his sister, Patricia (Jay) Melton of Moline; his twin brother, Carroll (Elaine) Foster of Moline; grandchildren, Scott Ramsey, Rachel Carpenter, Kelly Finck, and Ollie Braun; and his great-grandchildren, Gavin, Gabriel, and Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Connie Tittle.
