Bruce W Peterson

Bruce W. Peterson, 67, of East Moline, IL, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline, IL. Services will be Friday, April 30th, at 6:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Bruce W. Peterson was born in Moline on November 8, 1942, to William and Myrtle (Davis) Peterson. In 1963, he married Cheryl Carlson. Then, in Moline, on January 20, 1970, he married Sandra Rankin. He graduated in 1962 from Roosevelt Military Academy in Aledo, IL. Bruce was a Warehouseman for Deere & Company for 32 years, in both East Moline and Conyers, GA, retiring in 1997. After retirement, he worked on the Grounds Crew for Deere Run T.P.C. He attended First Christian Church in Moline, and was a member of the U.A.W. #472 in Conyers, GA, and the Snow Belt Valley Riders. He enjoyed cooking and snowmobiling, and he loved NASCAR. In addition to his wife, Sandra, survivors include: daughters: Sherry (Kenny) Chard of Rock Island, IL, and Kim (Ricky) Evans of Covington, GA; a son: Scott Peterson of Rock Island; a brother: Steve (MaryBeth) Peterson of Heartland, WI; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.
