Brent C Allison

December 27, 1953 — February 28, 2015

A celebration of life for Brent C. Allison will be held at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL, on Saturday, March 14th, at 1:00 pm, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Brent died peacefully in his sleep on February 28, 2015 in Juneau, AK. He was 61. Brent was born in Davenport, IA, on December 27, 1953. He was a graduate of the University of Oregon, earning his degree in Labor Relations. Brent moved to Alaska to work for Kluwan Native Corporation, then the City and Borough of Juneau, and ended his career with the State of Alaska in risk management. Due to his love of hot sauces, he and his wife founded Alaska Lava Hot Sauce Company, or, as many would say, “Lavalicous”. He also loved animals, walking, karaoke, and sports. In life, he played football, softball, volleyball, and golf. He also sponsored many volleyball and softball teams in Juneau. With his family and friends, he always shared his sense of humor. Brent was the kind of person to whom people were drawn. His outgoing personality pulled people in so much that each person knew that they were very special. Brent was also a poet. This past Christmas, he wrote “Humpback Whale Song”: Put the sonar in the ocean and listen to the splendid commotion and melodies Moans and groans abound This is a humpback whale with feelings like ours The haunting song has an amazing grace and depth It rings in my heart and brings great joy Then she comes up and wants a touch I’ll never forget this experience and it means so much He is survived by his wife Patti Allison, and his collie dog “Cassie”, his father- and mother-in-law Edward (Patricia) Rodts; a brother-in-law Ron (Jennifer) Rodts of Indian Hills, CO; and four sisters-in-law, Andrea Rodts of Loveland, CO, Diana (Tom) Hoffmann of East Moline, IL, Jane Bullinger of Fort Collins, CO, and Bernadette Rodts of East Moline, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Jane Allison. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan, IL.
