Betty Marie Stevens

Betty Stevens, 73, of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015, in Galesburg, IL. Cremation rites were accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family. Betty Marie Schwartzkopf was born October 15, 1942, in Monmouth, IL, to Earl Wesley and Edna Beatrice (House) Schwartzkopf. She graduated from Galva High School in Galva, IL. Betty was a maid, caregiver and foster parent to numerous children. She was a 45-year member of the 8+1 Club, and enjoyed crafts, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include sons, William Wesley Stevens of Cocoa, FL, and Douglas Eugene Stevens of Moline, IL; a sister Marty Thurman of Galesburg, IL; a brother Dale Schwartzkopf of Sherrard, IL; Denise Wheatley of Moline, IL, who was like a daughter; six grandchildren, and five (plus one-on-the-way) great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dean and Willard Schwartzkopf, and granddaughters Renae and Danielle Stevens.
