Betty M Hendricks

Betty M. Hendricks, 93, of Moline, IL and West Palm Beach, FL, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Universty of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. Services will be Wednesday, November 9th, at 11:00 a.m., at First Evangelical Free Church, 3321 - 7th Street, Moline, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to First Evangelical Free Church, Moline. Betty M. Ohlweiler was born in Rock Island, IL, on August 21, 1918, to Herbert and Henrietta (Bertelsen) Ohlweiler. She married Kenneth C. Hendricks on October 20, 1936, in Nashua, IA. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2000. She was a Librarian in the Moline School System for 12 years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of Kingsdaughters, Left Bank League, and Play Crafters, and loved playing Bridge and Golf at Short Hills Country Club, and attending the lunches at High-12. She was a member of the Royal Poinciana Chapel in West Palm Beach, and taught Art, and was active in the Senior Folies there. Survivors include: daughter: Debbie (James) Reep of Moline; son: Douglas Hendricks of West Palm Beach, FL; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and her dear pet dog, Pepi. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Special thanks are directed to her wonderful caregivers, daughter Debbie, and granddaughter Ginger.
