Betty Jane Spaulding

Betty Spaulding, 98, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 10th, 2021.

Services will be Friday, January 15th, 2021 at 10:30 am, Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, IL , with visitation one hour prior to service beginning at 9:30 am . Betty's funeral will be live streamed and can be accessed by clicking on the Photo & Video Tab and then clicking on webcast.

Betty was born in Silvis, IL, on August 17th, 1922, to Jack and Mariemma (Simpson) Heflin. She married Penrod Spaulding on April 3, 1953, in Silvis, IL.

Betty graduated from the East Moline Class of 1941. In her youth, she trained horses for harness racing. Betty also worked as a crossing guard and hall monitor for the Moline School District for over forty years. Betty’s hobbies included collecting Santa Clauses, watching her husband bowl and and she loved the color lavender.

Survivors include her four children: Tim Spaulding of Moline; Penny Strombeck (Dave Toye) of East Moline; John (Linda) Spaulding of Davenport, IA; and Debi (Chris) Hillyer of Moline; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Penrod and a great grandson, Mason Witte.
