Betty Ann Bartell

Betty Bartell, 84, of Moline, IL, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley, IL. Per her wishes, cremation will be accorded. There will be no visitation. There will be a private graveside service at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Arrangements are being handled by Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Memorials may be made to Pathway Hospice. Betty Ann Murphy was born in Ottumwa, IA, on August 21, 1924, to John and Rosetta (Sipes) Murphy. On October 11, 1946, in Moline, she married Donald Bartell, who preceded her in death January 25, 1998. Survivors include: her daughter: Kay Babcock of East Moline; her son: Donald (Debra) Bartell of Bernard, IA; and four grandchildren: Jay (Jenny) Bartell of Bernard, IA, Deena (John) Petit of Moline, Jonna Babcock of Moline, and Teresa (Juan) Garcia of Moline; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
