Bernice Doris Hartman

Bernice Hartman, 93, of Rock Island, IL. died on Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline, IL. Bernice Doris Meier was born August 11, 1914, in Moline, to Paul and Hazel (Jasper) Meier. On October 14, 1933, in Rock Island, she married Louis R. Hartman, who preceded her in death August 28, 1987. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Milan, IL, and enjoyed bowling and family. Visitation will be held Friday, September 14th, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held Saturday, September 15th, at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Fort Armstrong in Rock Island, IL. Survivors include: two sons: Edwin (Sandi) Hartman of Gabriella, AR; and Jerry (Judy Jo) Hartman of New Boston, IL.; three sisters: Dixie Aguirre of Rock Island; Donna McKinney of Moline; and Marilyn Nance of Garden Grove, CA; one brother: Donald Meier of Rock Island; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Eileen Hoffmeier, Dorena MacDonald, and Bonnie Strayer; and one brother: Paul Meier, Jr.
