Bernard A Gregory

Bernard A. Gregory, 88, of Moline, IL, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015, at UnityPoint-Trinity West in Rock Island, IL. Services will be Monday, March 23rd, at 1:30 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a visitation from 11:00 am until time of the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, or to the donor’s choice. Bernard Gregory was born in Sheboygan, WI, on October 13, 1926, to Arthur and Etta (Daily) Gregory. On September 16, 1950, he married Beverly J. Youngren, who preceded him in death on May 26, 2008. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was then employed for over 30 years at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1982. After that, he was employed by Pace Development, and Normura Enterprise, Inc. Bernard was a member of the Moline V.F.W., the American Legion Post 246, and the Viking Club. He loved playing the steel guitar, enjoyed tinkering around in the garage and doing house projects, and he especially loved animals. Survivors include: son Rick (Barb) Gregory of East Moline, IL, and a step-grandson Kenny (Rachel) Gellerstedt of Neenah, WI. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers.
