Bardeen Monteyne

Bardeen Montenye, 77, of Moline, IL, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, at University Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. Per her wishes, her body has been donated to the University Of Iowa School Of Medicine for the advancement of medical science. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 2nd, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date. Bardeen Gasper was born July 6, 1938, in Lindsey, NE, to Clem and Alice (Schumacher) Gasper. In Moline, on September 21, 1957, she married James Charles Monteyne, who preceded her in death August 25, 2012. Bardeen enjoyed yard sales, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Patrice (Matt) Jett of Davenport, IA; her son, Sean (Amanda) Monteyne of Quincy, IL; sisters, Gayle Newman and Ivy Gasper; brothers, Len, Larry, and Steve Gasper; and six grandchildren. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Lewis.
