B. Richard Wiklund

B. Richard "Wik" Wiklund, 75, of Moline, IL. died Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. Bartel Richard Wiklund was born December 24, 1931, to Bartel and Florence (Lindstedt) Wiklund in Moline. He graduated from Moline High School, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. "Wik" retired in 1985 from Case-I.H. East Moline Works as a Parts Expediter. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Moline; the Willard Velie Post of V.F.W.; the Thor Vikings Lodge; and American Legion Post #246 of Moline. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 18th, from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held Monday, November 19th, at 10:30 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Moline. Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #246. Burial will take place at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church in Moline, IL. Survivors include: his life-long companion, Jean E. Paulson, and her children: daughter Kelly (John) Pingilley of Bettendorf, IA; and son Kevin Paulson of Huntsville, AL; three sisters: Bernice Kay and Lucille Matters, both of Moline, and Doris Oakberg of Roseville, CA.; one brother: Robert "Bob" (Nancy) Wiklund of Moline; a sister-in-law: Jen Wiklund of Mesa, AZ.; one granddaughter: Sarah Pingilley; and two grandsons: Matthew Paulson and Collin Pingilley. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: John Wiklund.
