Augusta Leedom

Augusta M. "Gussie" Leedom, 92, of Silvis, IL, formerly of Moline, IL, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis. Augusta M. Morel was born on August 16, 1915, to Charles and Eliza (Verhelst) Morel in Moline. She married Dwayne Leedom on December 4, 1965, in Moline. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was employed at IHC-Farmall Works at Rock Island, IL, for 31 years, retiring in 1974 as an inspector. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline, the Altar & Rosary Society, the Friends Circle Club, and served three terms as a Union Stewardess for UAW Local 1309. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23rd, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held Thursday, April 24th, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Altar & Rosary Society at Sacred Heart Church, and the Salvation Army. Survivors include: a daughter: Barbara Patrick of Oklahoma City, OK; a son: Walter Johnson of Wichita, KS; two stepdaughters: Sherry Badtrom of Arizona, and Dianna Fawcett of Burbank, CA; a sister: Yvonne Warlop of Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren: Jeff and Jim O'Hern of Moline, Beth Huffman of Amarillo, TX, Joe Miller of Stuart, FL, and Mark Johnson of Lawton, OK; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother, Frank Morel.
