Allen Lee Herbert

Allen Lee Herbert, 56, of Moline, IL. died Sunday, August 14, 2011, at his home. Memorial Services will be Thursday, August 18th, at 1:30 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Allen Lee Herbert was born in Port Hueneme, CA, on December 18, 1954, to Paul G. and Dorothy M. (Collis) Herbert. He graduated from high school in Lodi, WI, and joined the U.S. Marine Corp. He came to the Quad Cities, and worked at Quad City Die Casting for many years. He loved watching football, especially the Minnesota Vikings. He also liked music, reading, watching movies, and spending time with his son's dog, Jake. He was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and enjoyed his walks to his group meetings at Last Chance. He especially cherished the time he spent with his children and family. Survivors include: his daughter: Dallas Herbert, and his son: Travis Herbert, both of Moline; his mother: Dorothy (David) Collis of East Moline; his father: Paul (Mary) Herbert of South Carolina; brothers: Victor (Doreen) Herbert, and Richard Herbert, all of Portage, WI; half-sister, Elizabeth Herbert and half-brother, Paul Herbert of Florida; step-brothers: David (Cathy) Collis and Tom Collis, all of Moline; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; his dearest friend, Angie; and his fellow members at Last Chance Group of AA.
