Alice Malone, 89, of Kalispell, MT, formerly of the Quad Cities, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, in Kalispell. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 24th, at 9:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline, IL. There will be a reception at Cullman Hall immediately after the service. Arrangements are being handled by Wendt Funeral Home of Moline. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church. Alice Marie Kolb was born in Moline, on June 28, 1920, to Karl and Sarah (Genung) Kolb. On August 20, 1938, in Moline, she married Francis Malone, who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Moline High School Class of 1938, and St. Anthony's Hospital LPN Nursing Program in 1966. She was employed in the childrens' ward at Moline Public Hospital from 1966 to 1985. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church's Catholic Womens League Altar Society, the Rosary Society, the 500 Club, and the Catholic Foresters. She enjoyed playing with babies, knitting, sewing, cooking, and cooking for the Rectory. Survivors include: son Stephen K. Malone; grandson Michael Gabriel Malone; brother, Wesley (Mary Kay) Johnson of Moline; nieces: Kathleen (Karl) Kochendorfer of Columbia, MO, and Sara (Shawn) Wynn of Moline, and Pattie Newsome of Boone, NC; special cousins: Francis, Mary Ann, and Leo Helen, all of Clinton, IA; and nine great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a brother, Alex Kolb.
