Alice M Rodelius

Alice Rodelius, 87, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, October 15, 2009. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21st, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Thursday, October 22nd, at 10:00 a.m., at Christ The King Catholic Church, 3209 - 60th Street, in Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ The King Church. Alice M. Madden was born in Milwaukee, WI, on July 13, 1922, to Frank and Nora Madden. The family moved to Davenport, IA, in 1923. On December 31, 1943, in San Diego, CA, she married Charles "Chuck" Rodelius, who preceded her in death on October 26, 2007. Alice and Chuck returned to Moline in 1952. She was a member of Kings Daughters, the Symphony Auxilary, Second Fiddle, the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club, and was on the boards of the former Moline Public Hospital Auxilary, and the former Moline YWCA. Alice loved traveling the world with her late husband. She enjoyed skiing, swimming, golfing, playing Bridge, quilting, and needlepoint. Survivors include: her daughter: Julie Mayes of Corrales, NM; her son: Michael Rodelius of Charlotte, NC; and grandchildren: Melissa Mayes of Carrboro, NC, and Stephen Mayes of Los Angeles, CA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
