Alfred Theodore Ferry

Alfred “Ted” Ferry, 82, of Moline, IL, died peacefully Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA. Services will be Friday, December 8th, at 11:00 a.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a two-hour visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estates in Moline. Memorials may be directed to the Ferry family to fund a memorial site on The Old Ferry Homestead (now Genesis, 41st Moline) in recognition of the Ferry Ancestry. Ted (Al) was born in Moline on July 29, 1935, the second son born to Lawrence and Dorothy Ferry. He retired after forty-three years, from Rock Island Ready Mix. He loved fishing, gardening, and playing Euchre and cribbage. He also loved his Christmas Breakfasts, which he held for years in his home for all his family and friends. Even though he hasn’t had one for a long while, they are still talked about. Ted will be remembered for his big heart and his sense of humor. Survivors include his brothers, Jack (Carole) Ferry of Moline, Jim (Jan) Ferry of Kalona, IA, and Tom Ferry of Moline; sisters, Donna Ferry of Moline, and Betty (Walt) Lambert of Davenport, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Lawrence (Larry), Kenny, and Daryl, and his special sweetie, Dorothy Black. The family would like to thank the staff at Clarissa Cook for their wonderful care.
