Alan R. Tebbe 79, of Moline, IL, passed away May 24, 2021, in Rock Island, IL.


Services will be Friday, May 28, 2021, at noon with visitation before the service starting at 10 am, Edgewood Baptist Church 2704 - 38th St., Rock Island, IL. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Cemetery.


Alan was born July 26, 1941, in Moline to Alvin and Pearl (Bendt) Tebbe. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1959.


Alan served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963, where he acquired Signal Corp and Electronic training. He was employed by three local companies, Ametek, International Harvester, and Prime Mover as a machine operator, in addition to working 15 years as a part-time auto mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, his dogs and was an avid skier. His decision for when and where he took vacations, his work, were based on his desire to hunt ducks daily.


Al married Karen Humberstone in 1961 and together they had three daughters. In 1980, he married Joyce Trainor of Evansdale, IA; they have been happily married for the past 46 years. Together they traveled frequently and especially enjoyed spending time at their cabin in northern WI, boating, fishing, spending time together and with their friends. Alan was one of a kind and always positive. He never met a person he didn't like and would often help strangers in need.


In addition to his wife, Joyce, survivors include daughters; Michelle Tebbe, Ellensburg, WA, Melissa Tebbe, Moline, IL and Melinda (Mike) Wells, Taylor Ridge, IL. Three granddaughters, Olivia, Kylie, Mikayla, and a sister Eleanor Sims of CO.


He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
