Adrena M Lyon

Adrena M. Lyon, 76, of Milan, IL, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, October 18th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services will be Friday, October 19th, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. A private family burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial bench on the Milan Walkway. Adrena M. Wicker was born in Davenport, IA, on September 25, 1936, to Clell and Ruby (Cruchelow) Whicker. On October 27, 1956, in Council Bluffs, IA, she married Larry L. Lyon, who survives. She was a graduate of the Seymore, IA, school system, and was employed for a time at the Augustana College Book Concern. Later, she worked in a cafeteria, for the Rock Island school system, retiring in 1989. She was a former member of the Milan P.T.A., and a past-secretary of the Milan Little League. She especially enjoyed her sons. In addition to her husband, Larry, survivors include, three sons: Mitchell T. (Eugenia) Lyon of Baylis, IL, Marshall R. (Natalie) Lyon, and Matthew S. (Susan) Lyon, all of Milan, IL; a sister, Sherry Lightner of Bettendorf, IA; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, and two brothers, Dennis & Jerry Whicker.
